Review of Green Street Hooligans (2005) by Chris H — 27 May 2015
This is a watchable film to be sure, but it doesn't have anything original to say about the subject of gangs and football hooliganism etc.
The plot is ok but it's so easy to spot how and where things are going to fall apart for our "hero". The characters are paper thin but the cast are ok. They manage to breath a bit of life into the film. What would have been interesting is if the film explored why these guys felt that it was necessary to beat the crap out of each other just because they supported a different team. Instead we get the whole thing about how being part of a gang makes you stronger and safer. Its been done before and it's a little old.
This is ok, nothing more...
