I won't go as far as to say that this movie is bad, but I also don't think it is quite as good as critics made it sound. There are decent moments, for sure! The cast does a great job with the material that they are given, however the story tends to falter a bit from time to time.
It is not as good as the classic horror movies are, but it tries to be a decent effort for modern times.
