Review of Green Room (2016) by Ray W — 27 May 2016
From the director of BLUE RUIN, this is a tightly focused horror/thriller that cashes the check it writes.
Traveling musicians, doing a gig at a strange rural venue, get caught up major trouble when they they witness a murder.
Revealing anything beyond this premise would be doing the movie a disservice as the reveals are both surprising and super-bloody.
Top performance trophy goes directly to Patrick Stewart, who excels as a white supremacist, but the rest of the cast acquit themselves ably.
The unrelenting nature of the narrative is the film's greatest virtue. Concluding moments don't quite satisfy.
