Review of Green Card (1990) by Amanda S — 07 Jun 2007
Feelgood comedy/drama to which the "Andie MacDowell test" (is the script good enough to survive her) doesn't apply as she's both well-cast and awake here. Depardieu runs away with the film though, with help from Peter Weir's elegant script.
A proper grown-up romantic comedy with a heartbreaking ending and a fine premise. Niggles? It has its slow moments. Some of the minor characters are thin and the set up is a little clunky, but there's a lot to enjoy here.
