Review of Grave Encounters 2 (2012) by Anomaly . — 23 Nov 2012
A film is only as good as the sequel that follows it. When it comes to Grave Encounters 2, this is pretty true. This sequel bridges the gap between reality and movie, opening with a world that doesn't seem that different from your own, then locks you into an undisclosed abandoned asylum that turns out to be the exact same one from the first film.
As the story develops, you uncover the true ending of Grave Encounters 1 and get the same bizarre fear of being trapped with a few new elements of fantasy that give this sequel a different tone in parts, which you'll either love or hate.
Overall, this movie isn't for everyone, but it's a well-done horror/fantasy film that manages to get some good real scares and a surprise here and there. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good scare in a movie.
