Review of Grandma (2015) by Dan R — 25 Sep 2015
Grandma is a surpringly touching film about the vulnerabilities of three generations of women, a variety of relationships, and the pain people cause each other that keys in on the capacity for self-realization and healing given honest communication.
The plot is tightly written, the casting superb, the acting by Lily Tomlin exceptional, and the directing sensitive and consistent. It ranks with some of the best films of the human story in the last several years, not because it is flashy or deep, but because it is credible, honest, and plainly stated for all of the characters.
