Review of Two for the Road (1967) by Ross P — 03 Sep 2009
The idea should be great, to chronicle the love story and marriage of a couple by their travels around Europe, showing the different stages their relationship faces. It also has some cleved one and poignant one liners.
...but I didn't care. I know that maybe the movie was risky in 1967 in the way a relationship was presented, more so considering the iconical actress, but there's really nothing on it, seriously.
Not funny and at the same time too silly for a serious movie. Too snobbish and just worried about aesthetics (special mention to Hepburn's wardrobe) and at the end quite conservative and hard to believe (at least for someone who was born in another time and sees what happens on the film).
Shame because the idea behind and some dialogues were worth something better.
