Having seen a few miike movies, I somewhat expect a story that isn't taken at face value. Miike has gone even further with Gozu. This movie rivaled Naked Lunch or Eraserhead. I was captivated from the begining, and even though I have no idea what the movie was about, only Happiness of the Katakuris surpasses it.
