Review of Gozu (2003) by Nelson P — 07 Jun 2011
You know you've got a winner when the opening scene of the movie is a man twirling around a dog by the leash then smashing it against a window and the closing scene is a women giving birth to grown man covered in vaginal sauce.
The movies itself is a series of drug induced flashes strung together as missing person's story. It's not a bad thing, because its perfect for what it is, but anyone who's not familiar Takashi Miike's style of storytelling you'll be questioning the sanity of the film maker.
It;s not sa movie most people would enjoy or have a fun time watching, but I find the sadistic humor of the Japanese quite appealing.
