The synthesizer is officially one of the worst man-made inventions of all time. only its piercing and annoying sound could distance me so much from an otherwise moving story. basically, the music was horible.
The addition of an ill-fated romance really doesn't help either, especially considering the fact it does nothing for the story other than keep the apes off screen for longer periods of time.
Ill admit it, I cried a little at the end. animal cruelty doesnt sit well with me, and when we come to love these animals so much, its hard to see them brutalized so much, even though we know it is all fake.
