Filmmaking Perfection. One of many highlights of Scorsese's career, the director is completely at one with his actors of whom display pure genius within their field. The film demonstrates the amazing results of giving quality actors complete freedom; and is an example of a brilliant merge of music, camerawork, and storytelling through narration, to create a film of racing pace and endless memorable scenes.
