This was a good movie for what it was, but I feel like it would be easy to make a movie about this material. Joe McCarthy, in real footage, is so over the top that how could any news agency or reporter not go nuts and have success in censoring him, which he did. And the ending is poetic, and real.
The black and white works.. David Straitharn is almost as good as he was in 8 Men Out (a very underrated movie) and I believe that he portrays Murrow as Murrow would have been.
And its very historically accurate. And it does what it needs to do and gets done when it needs to get done, so how can anyone even remotely interested in history posssibly not like this movie? This all happened, in this country.. and these guys put a stop to it.. or at least put a dent in putting a stop to it. Good flick. Show it to your kids.
