Review of Good Night, and Good Luck. (2005) by Patty B — 01 Oct 2009
George Clooney surprised me in this one. Not only was his direction superb, but his low-key performance he turned in as CBS producer Fred Friendly should not be ignored. He took a role that could have easily out-shined David Strathairn's as Edward R.
Murrow, Instead, he down played his role and it was the perfect balance to the movie. If McCarthy era drama's are your thing, you'll get a great payoff in this movie .. however if political issues aren't your thing, best to stay clear as this movie IS quite long.
Well crafted, written (again, clooney), and a powerhouse of supporting actors.
