Another film that's maybe very well-made and flawless in many aspects but just not for me.
Although I find it interesting how the McCarthy era still affects the minds of Americans, these abstract fear which affected a whole country is not comparable with anything I know thus I don't understand the way McCarthy could gain so much power in the first place.
The film itself is not too shabby though - well-directed and featuring a great cast (as always in Clooney's directorial works) that performs on a high level - especially David Strathairn is great and his accolades are well-deserved. George Clooney himself looks soooo good in Black & White (a fact, I already noticed in The Good German) I guess that was enough motive to do the whole film in this particular style^^.
