Review of Good Morning, Vietnam (1987) by Jon C — 02 Feb 2012
The war in Vietnam takes hold and times are tough.
Thankfully Robin Williams steps in as a radio broadcaster to lightnen things up and grant us the power of laughter.
Williams is at his best again here with his fine acting, emotions, and clever impersonations.
I especially love Forest Whitaker in here as well always making something funny even when the impact of the war lingers over all the soliders and the country.
The plot goes alot deeper than you would expect, too.
Theres also a cool philosophy on censorship and freedom of speech; that people should be told of whats going on and not be kept in the dark.
Nice drama intermingled with the comedy.
Made me laugh, smile, and think quite a bit.
