Review of Good Morning, Vietnam (1987) by Steven G — 14 Jan 2016
"Putting the team on his or her back" is a recent pop-culture phrase most commonly associated with sporting events, however the idiom appears to perfectly characterize Robin Williams' performance in the picture.
It is tough to take a serious issue like the Vietnam War and give it a comedic twist, yet Barry Levison is able to do that with his casting of Robin Williams as Adrian Cronauer. Williams made this film worth while with his whit and spontaneous comedic style.
The most memorable part of the film for me is the first radio broadcast in which Cronauer (Robin Williams) captivates his new audience with his fresh and fast paced humor.
