This movie might be the best cross section of Robin Williams in his prime (ie: before all the sappy late 90's stuff). Everyone remembers the comedy, but this movie has a lot more than that. The soundtrack might be one of the best ever.
The dramatic component is as wonderfully covered as any Vietnam film ever made. And the casting is perfect in all cases. For all though that think this is just Robin Williams ad libbing his way through Vietnam, you owe it to yourself to re-watch this one.
