Review of Good Morning, Vietnam (1987) by Brett H — 24 Aug 2014
Classic Robin Williams comedy that gave him his big break in Hollywood and it's even funnier now that I'm old enough to get all of his jokes! The film has a very simple premise with a DJ entertaining the troops through radio, but it also has a surprising amount of real-life drama and never forgets that the movie takes place in Vietnam during the war.
Williams amazingly ad-libbed all of his broadcasts and it's like seeing one of his stand-up shows with an incredible array of impressions and swift humour. It's a classic rebel-style comedy and it is definitely one of Robin's best performances!
