Review of Good Morning, Vietnam (1987) by Kevin J — 29 Jun 2014

This one is really entertaining, but still a great picture of the Vietnam War. This film's major success is its comedy. It is brilliantly written and has you laughing at almost every turn. Plus, it does not hurt that Robin Williams' energetic and over the top performance is hilarious as well.

However, what this film does really well is combining that comedy with the realities of war, as it does shield us from the horrors at all. This combination of comedy and war is a relatively unique combo that allows this one to stand as a very good war film and a very good comedy.
