Review of Gone with the Wind (1939) by Simon D — 27 Jul 2013
I appreciate that, this is considered a classic, I'm not sure exactly why, perhaps because it was such an epic with some interesting scenes but I just don't get why everyone rates it so highly as a film.
The main characters are just not likeable. You have a whoremongering smug playboy and a spoilt, selfish, slavemaster who would stomp on her friends and family to get what she wants. You could have taken any made for tv us melodrama and stiched the series together to come up with something similar, would that be a classic?
