Review of Gone with the Wind (1939) by John O — 31 Dec 2012
Its certainly a masterpiece but I just can't seem to latch onto the premise. The performances are flawless, the writing wasn't ideal but good nonetheless, and the directing was magnificent! The cinematography is uninspiring but taking into consideration the times I can forgive it, but the locations, no matter how simply shot, are beautiful.
Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh have amazing chemistry. As someone who isn't very familiar with the history of the Civil War I can't rightfully make any comment about the history. Overall it was a very, very good film!
