Compelling, gritty directorial debut from Ben Affleck starring his younger brother Casey as a private eye who, along with his girlfriend/ partner (Michelle Monaghan), become embroiled in a kidnapping case.
But as they track down leads with two gruff cops, things get more and more complicated - and morally murky. Affleck shows an assured, steady hand his first time behind the camera, and Casey is excellent as the film's hero, standing shoulder to shoulder with heavy weights Morgan Freeman and Ed Harris.
