Review of Gomorrah (2008) by Andrew B — 03 Dec 2015

Billed as the best gangland movie since City of God, I had high expectations. Whoever wrote that should be thrashed! It's not even close. For me, the characters and the central plot were not woven together tightly enough and this left me mentally playing catch up at some important points in the film.

It felt like a super-violent version of the Sopranos, especially at the toxic waste dumping scenes. In short, this movie left a lot to be desired - overbilled, overhyped.
