Review of Goldfinger (1964) by Catherine S — 18 Feb 2013
The quintessential James Bond, this had it all. Cool gadgets and an outlandish plot without being too over the top. Auric Goldfinger is a memorable villain, his henchman Oddjob is arguably the best in the series.
Sean Connery appears to be enjoying his role, Pussy Galore is the definite bond girl, setting the standard without being too cliched. Connery delivers just enough comical whims to fit with the action without feeling forced.
This is often considered the best Bond, for good reason, it set the standard for all to come, and is a must see for any Bond fan.
