Review of Golden Door (2006) by Glenna B — 23 Jun 2007
I guess i've come to expect more from martin scorcese.. this definitely did not meet my expectations. the lack of a musical score (which was made painfully clear during the five minutes of opening credits with no images or sound) was an interesting touch.
there were also a few nice shots - the boat pulling away from the harbor comes to mind. I suppose as a realistic (or what I imagine to be realistic) portrayal of what it was like for families to migrate to america it was successful.
but other than that, there didn't seem to be much of a story.
