Review of Golden Door (2006) by Maria G — 10 Sep 2007
While the story is interesting and its fascinating to see the process some people undertook to come to the US, it seems like Crialese couldn't decide what aspects to include. We move from bizarre scenes with ghosts, to characters swimming in milk.
It's as though he tried to fit a 5 hour film with too many ideas into 2 hours. Worth a rent if you have family who came through Pier 21 or Ellis Island.
