Review of Golden Door (2006) by Miriami M — 25 Jan 2008
The director knew how to describe the despair of the southern italians who really believed that they would find a new world ("nuovo mondo", the original italian tytle) in america. proud people as they were, they have agreed to go through the humiliation of the immigration process, as long as they could pass through these gates of the new world.
a heart touching, non flattering film which dances between witchcraft, dream and reality that helps the viewers which are not familiar with the southern italian culture identify with the heroes and their feelings and their goals.
