Review of Goin' Down the Road (1970) by Caleb L — 28 Jan 2008
Possibly the best Canadian film ever made, GOIN' DOWN THE ROAD is a gritty and realistic portrait of two men from Nova Scotia trying to make their way in the big city of Toronto. Beautifully acted with the atmosphere of a National Film Board of Canada documentary, it serves as an improvisational time capsule of my hometown in 1970.
A one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
