Review of Goin' Down the Road (1970) by Mark L — 29 Dec 2007
The gritty, deeply depressing Canadian masterpiece that every Canadian should watch and then seek therapy. But to those who think it invented the depressing, unresolved Canadian exile film, I'd recommend Don Owen's Nobody Waved Good-bye, about two teenagers in 1963 Toronto.
A surpassingly beautiful film shot in a rough yet lyrical Candid-Eye style, whose lonely protagonist also ends up "goin down the road" into the night.
