Great story but executed poorly as a movie. The screenwriting is paced as a tv mini-series, which means the payoff is delayed till Act III. And why are there still plausibility problems in 2014?! Take Honolulu being over-run by the MUTO, and the lieutenant's wife is oblivious until her child clues her in, really?! These and other dumb scenes should've be cut to trim this down from 2hrs to a faster-paced 90-mins.
