Review of God's Own Country (2017) by Allister G — 05 Feb 2018
Unlike most other LGBT films, the characters' sexual orientations were not an issue in this film. Rather, it was about spiritual awakening. The main protagonist loathes the land that he lives and works on, yet it is in God's own country that he finds the love he never knew he was yearning for.
The beautiful camera work, setting, and motifs of nature and the characters' interactions with it help to develop very complex and deep characters and to tell one of the most beautiful love stories in LGBT cinema.
