Review of Gods of Egypt (2016) by Dokyong T — 19 May 2016
- An action adventure that surrounds the story of love, power and vengeance, Gods of Egypt truly was a great movie. I am not entirely sure why it is considered a box office flop because with a incredible plot and over the top special effects, I seriously consider it to be pretty darn epic.
I went into the theater with a closed mind expecting to be disappointed but I was not. From the very beginning it hit hard and continued to impress me at every turn of a scene. With a concept of a war among God's, one would only expect that some major butt kicking will be presented, which it surely was.
In fact my favorite part of the film was the multiple fight scenes that continued to get better with each passing moment. Battle after extreme battle more unique features were portrayed in such a manner that kept me fully glued to my seat.
I give it a fair "3 Stars." It had various attributes that were satisfying in more ways than one. The development of the movie had a rhythmic pace that engaged the audience throughout the entire duration.
It hit a climatic range early on and maintained its sharpness as more excitement occurred. "A Must See" not only for the brilliant story line but mainly for the out of this world computer generated effects that are seriously something else.
The ending has a sweet lesson that is learned which gives the film another dynamic of complete awesomeness. I enjoyed it very much and I felt as if it covered various parts of a cinematic production. Yes, there were room for improvements but not many.
It carried out the overall objective as a successful movie and it left me with a huge smile on my face which I consider to be one of the most important aspect of any good flick. YEAH!
