For us mortals, mythology has always been a fascinating subject either on stage plays or films. Tragic love stories between life and death, rivalry between forces of good and evil, and bro-mance between mortals and gods. Unsurprisingly, "Gods of Egypt" takes the formula. And yes, the movie is bad. The execution and directing is bad. But there's no denying that its disposable popcorn entertainment.

Stars Gerard Butler and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau are doing the best they could, even if the side characters of Brenton Thwaites A.K.A The Third Wheel, Chadwick Boseman and Geoffrey Rush seem to be out-of-place to their story. But if you think that the characters are ridiculous, watch out for the CGI. It's eyepoppingly, digitally aching.

After doing "The Crow" and "Dark City", director Alex Proyas provides yet another bizarre fantasy, but just like what as mentioned from above, this movie has the so-bad-it's-good syndrome - that moment when you realize, "wait a minute, it's too rotten to miss.".

VERDICT: Yes, Gods of Egypt is a cinematic artifact. And yes, it should be buried again. But because the movie is heavy on macho posturing, digital eyesores and non-Egyptian models, it’s worth the guilty pleasure.
