Review of God Bless America (2012) by Pj K — 22 Aug 2012
This film will remind you of other films with this premise: a desperate, terminally-ill man who has nothing to lose". Ok, fine. But what sets this film apart is Frank's grisly decision to take-down the most detestable icons of American television.
I'll buy that. The film loses itself a little bit by adding a bloodthirsty, female, teenage side-kick --I mean, come on...is Roxy really that sociopathic? Apparently, and there seems to be some sexual tension between the two but Frank insists he's not a pedophile.
Ok, we get the point. I understand what Goldthwait was attempting to accomplish with the obvious rants and declinations on the absurdity of American audiences but how long can this tirade fuel the film without becoming too "preachy"?
