Review of Goat (2016) by Thi N — 23 Sep 2016
As most of the critics noted, this is not an easy movie to watch. Viewers who go in expecting laughs and positive affirmation will not be rewarded. This film is brutally honest about an ugly institution that many people would prefer to ignore or disavow.
It hits you in the face (literally) with its honesty. Maybe you will walk out of the theater early when you realize the story is moving far beyond your comfort zone. I stayed for the duration, because I had seen this culture up close and personal during my college days, and the sense of disgust I felt so many years ago compelled me to stay and remember.
