Review of Girl, Interrupted (1999) by Daniella M — 24 Jan 2011
Ummm, this doesn't speak to me about my experiences with hospitalization or mental illness. I'm not sure it speaks to anyone's. I'm sure the book is better, this just made it all seem so whimsical and glamorous.
Also, when Angelina Jolie's character runs in all angry about being given electroshock therapy (since renamed electroconvulsive, whatever) no one who's just undergone that would be that coherent and animated, sorry.
