Review of Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning (2004) by Paul P — 27 Jul 2010
For all of it's oddness, I kinda dug this.
Ginger and Brigette in 19th century Canada was a really interesting proposition and one of the things that this film manages to pile on in spades is atmosphere. You can feel the cold in the fort that they end up in and the harshness of the elements is all around. The story is told in a really simple way and having our heroines have to deal with both the threat of werewolves and weirdos alike make this a lot of fun.
The cast are pretty great, especially Katherine Isabelle (so easy on the eyes), her relationship with Brigette is always watchable and helps to bring the whole story together. Great fun and a credible addition to the Ginger Snaps story.
