Review of Gilda (1946) by Carlos M — 14 Apr 2014
Rita Hayworth steals the show in this film noir about a gambler who befriends a rich casino owner, becomes his right hand man, and then finds out he has married a woman from his past. Hayworth is seductive, playful, and sexy in her performance, and any scene without her suffers a little bit.
She isn't just beautiful, she gives a great performance, and two great dance numbers (someone else provided her singing voice). It is a classic old Hollywood film, and I enjoyed it.
