Review of Gigli (2003) by Jorge F — 19 Mar 2009
A movie this panned had to be seen. well the criticism is well justified. maybe Martin Brest should stick with directing. with Beverly hills Cop, Midnight Run, and Scent of a Woman he proves he knows how to direct a hit movie, but writing, maybe not.
now to the movie, you coulda had two good movies here. one mob movie, one romance movie. but the combo didn't work at all. Affleck's over the top Brooklyn tough guy was painful. Lopez is the same in every movie so don't expect much.
Pacino & Walken make a one scene appearance, but not together. the guy who plays Brian was quite good. when he breaks into old school rap songs, he brings the only joy an audience member can expirience.
yeah, it's that bad.
