Review of Gifted (2017) by Joanne O — 07 May 2017

Not a terrible film. The plot is something very new, and I really respect the writing and effort that went into this movie. Some problems with the plot. It is hard to follow at some points, but the idea is very new.

Chris Evans is the worst part of this movie. His slightly slow career was not exactly fixed by this film, and he gives a bit of a lazy, boring performance, that lost my interest in his character. The film appears to try to be another Manchester by the Sea, here which means it tries to be sad, yet uplifting.

This could have been accomplished, had the dialogue been a bit better. Overall, not terrible.
