Review of Giant (1956) by Carlos R — 29 Aug 2010
Soap opera set amidst generations of Texas cattle ranchers and oil men. The standout performance here is James Dean as the scheming Jett Rink, who learns that money can't buy you love. The scene in which an oil-soaked Dean confronts Leslie Benedict (Liz Taylor) is one of the best comeuppance scenes in all of cinema.
A LONG film, but well worth the time.
