Some of the visual effects falter noticeably as does the dialogue which is filled with many corny lines, but Stephen Sommers rip roaring direction keeps Rise of Cobra rocketing with a relentless pace that never lets up.

The story is pretty simple, focusing on the Joes who go up against Cobra in order to protect the world from being incinerated by a new weapon, but the majority of the time this Hasbro based movie packs jaw dropping action sequences where the majority of camera shots are filled with either explosions, flipping cars and guns blazing, or sometimes all of them at the same time.

The action is mental and it stays consistent throughout, although the story and visuals lack consistency. Rise Of Cobra features so many memorable scenes, such as the Eiffel Tower fall, the chase through the streets of Paris and the opening ambush which is ten minutes of pyrotechnic mania.

G.I. Joe Rise Of Cobra is two hours of adrenaline filled fun, and the cast are just excellent.
