Review of Ghost in the Shell (1995) by Colin H — 05 Aug 2008
It's certainly enjoyable, but I'm not sure what's so revolutionary about it. It goes into a lot of psychological techno-babble for extended periods of time, which suggests that there was some deeper meaning that I probably just missed.
Nonetheless, it's got some cool visuals, and the weapons and action are decent, although it could've used less talking and more shooting in my opinion. I know it makes me sound like a dumb American who wants nothing but explosions, but that is what I expect when I watch something like this. But still, I did enjoy it. It'd be cool to see a live action version.
