Review of Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai (1999) by Ryan A — 04 Mar 2008
The score is fantastic and the cinematography is really interesting, but even Forest Whitaker can't save this movie from it's over-ambition in the story line. Parts are absurd and parts are completely serious- it never really gets in a groove as it tries to make connections between eastern philosophy, hip-hop culture and mafioso films.
It's an interesting miss though.
