Review of Gettysburg (1993) by Chris C — 11 Mar 2008
This film more than lives up to the book. Despite a few minor historical inaccuracies, this story is much more true to history than most so-called "historical" films out there. It shows the battle and the war equally from both sides.
It immerses you into the drama of the period and the 3 dramatic days of America's most tremendous battle. The score is both glorifying and tragic at the same time. Pickett's Charge is a spectacle on a scale you will not find in any other film.
