Review of Gettysburg (1993) by Marc S — 02 Dec 2008
Although it was slow at points, this is an extremely vivid (albeit extremely long) depiction of the battle at Gettysburg, all accentuated by Randy Edelman's stirring and dramatic musical score. I highly recommend breaking it up into two or three different sittings or else all of the speeches/conversations will blur into one.
The charge down Little Roundtop is incredible - "Bayonettes!!!!" - the best part of the movie without question. I don't know if anybody can fully grasp the magnitude of 53,000 men losing their lives in one battle until they have seen this.
