Review of Gettysburg (1993) by Peter A — 14 Oct 2013
Movie could have been better if one hour was cut from it. The acting and script weren't terrible, they just weren't anything special and the script is just forgettable and bland and it doesn't do anything to make the movie that interesting and there were a lot of scenes that really drag on and most of them felt like they would never end.
Aside from the biggest flaws of the film, there are some good stuff here that keep the movie from being a terrible one, but just an alright one. I thought the battle scenes were great and there ended up being a lot of entertaining action and during those scenes you get a great score playing that make those battle scenes emotional and when they end you really get a feel at how devastating the battle of Gettysburg was and what our soldiers had been through.
All the battles were portrayed and directed very well. This movie is just brought down from the very excessive running time and I do not agree with the tomatometer on this movie.
