Review of Get Out (2017) by Jessica%20 W — 25 Feb 2018
The movie Get Out directed by Jordan Peele was a great movie portraying racism in a over zealot way. Racism is conveyed as a slow reveal, Chris never really noticed he was in a trap. As time went by in the movie Chris never truly felt comfortable he always knew something was wrong.
Jordan Peele portrays racism in a way where it seemed to be extreme, but people took notice. This movie should win best picture in the 2018 academy awards because it portrays racism in a hidden way, where people do not notice it just like in our society today.
The movie shows a great example of this when Chris goes to visit their house and they are throwing a small party. They make small comments to Chris like if Obama ran for the third time I would vote for him.
They were trying to make Chris feel comfortable, but really it was an awkward situation for him in the movie. The white people in the movie are not aware of stereotypes and think holding them are okay.
They are still being racist to Chris when saying things like this. Jordan Peele did a great job protaying racism in a hidden way, where it is slowly revealed to the character in the movie and the audience.
