Review of Get Out (2017) by Marlene D — 12 May 2017

I usually only rate films and don't bother with reviews but this film was beyond exceptional!

I won't delve into details of the plot as that spoils it for those who haven't seen it...

What I will say is that the script is superbly written, it's masterfully executed and the lead actor is phenomenal!

I walked away from the cinema feeling mildly nauseous and disturbed. It was one of the most powerfully moving films I have ever seen. It brings racism into a dramatic spotlight that serves us all a harsh reminder that racism continues to perpetuate itself in our present day society through different manifestations.

I'm surprised that this movie doesn't have a higher user rating than 88% but wouldn't be surprised if some racists left some less than awesome critiques. The critics got it right with 99%. In my personal opinion it deserves an outright 100% and I hope it wins lots of awards.
