Review of Get Low (2010) by Sandy K — 11 Jul 2011
Set in Depression-era rural South, Robert Duvall plays a hermit who decides to end his decades of isolation by holding his own âfuneralâ? where people can tell their stories about him. But it becomes clear his intentions are more complicated, and the film deftly builds the fascination with the mystery of what happened in the past that haunts him.
Itâ(TM)s one of those lovely, quiet films that trusts its audience to interpret story and characters through silences, with terrific acting by a fine cast.
